6 days Morocco tour from Tangier to Marrakech itinerary

Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen

We take you up from the port or the airport in Tangier and begin the trip via Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, taking in the views of Morocco’s majestic mountains until we arrive in Chefchaouan, one of the stunning communities at the base of the Rif Mountains. The blue tint of the Chefchaouen medina has made it one of the top Moroccan tourist destinations. It is surrounded by hip art and craft shops, cafes, and restaurants with rooftop patios. Spend the night in Chefchaoun

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast in the riad, we depart for Volubilis via a number of Rif villages, stop at Volubilis to explore the Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history in the first century BC, and then continue on to Meknes, a city with a rich heritage from the 17th century, where we will have lunch. The afternoon is the ideal time to see Medina’s historic landmarks, such as Bab el Mansour and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We travel to Fes city later on to stay the night.

Day 3: Exploring Fes Medina

You will begin your tour of Fes when a local city guide arrives at your accommodation in the morning. You’ll go to a ceramics studio and take a drive to get a bird’s-eye perspective of the medina. You will see some of the most significant landmarks inside the walls, such as the royal palace’s golden doors, as well as the souks and artisan workshops. You arrive back at your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

We begin our desert adventure at 8:00 a.m. from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara. We travel to Midelt across the middle Atlas Cedar Forests and the Atlas Mountains. Drive via Azrou, a significant handicraft hub with a focus on cedar wood work, and Ifrane, a lovely ski resort. We get to Midelt in time for lunch. We will travel to Erfoud and the desert in the late afternoon. Once you reach the Erg Chebbi dunes, a short offroad will lead you to the edge of the golden dunes where camels are waiting for you.

Your luggage will then be loaded into a 4WD car and driven to the camp while you take a lovely camel ride through the sand dunes and take in a stunning Saharan sunset. When you arrive, you will be greeted with tea and a friendly greeting. Before supper, you can unwind and settle in your lovely, private tents, each of which has an ensuite bathroom and a shower. After a great supper, a fire will be lighted, and a joyful atmosphere will take over as staff members and cameleers perform musical performances under the desert night sky.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge

Wake up to enjoy the sunrise and a delicious breakfast outside before packing up and leaving the sand dunes behind as you ride camels or drive a 4×4 back to camp. We get back on the paved roads and head to Erfoud, which is famous for producing fossils. Drive across savannah-like terrain and palm gardens. After stopping for lunch, we proceed to the Todra Gorges for a brief stroll. We travel to Dades Gorge, where we will stop. Dinner and a hotel stay are included.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Tizi-n-Tichka – Marrakech

We will take a little hike through the gorges after breakfast before continuing our 6 days Morocco tour from Tangier to Marrakech Desert trip. Through El Kelaa Magona, also known as the Valley of the Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, we will follow the Dades Valley. We stop for lunch in the village of Ait Benhadou after our excursion to Ouarzazate. We will have time to tour the well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site, which served as the backdrop for a number of movies, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. To get to Marrakech, we’ll drive across the Tichka pass.
