6 days Sahara desert trip from Fes to Marrakech itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
The first round of our Morocco Sahara Desert Trip. We will stard from Fes drive into the Atlas Mountains with a stop in the village of Ifrane, where we’ll get the opportunity to see the well-known cedar forest, which is home to the Berber apes. After that, we’ll continue on to Midelt via the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge, where we can pause for photos and some fresh mint tea. After that, we travel on to Merzouga, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night at a local Riad to cap off the day.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert Sahara trip
Today, we’ll tour the area around the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the desert. You’ll get a chance to see how nomads live and the stunning contrast of the desert. The Gnawa music will be enjoyed when we travel to the ebony village of Khamlia. We’ll enjoy a typical Berber pizza for lunch in the historic city of Rissani. We’ll ride on camelback in the late afternoon to see the sun set over the sand dunes before spending the night in the desert camp. As the moon rises above the beautiful Morocco Sahara Desert Trip, we will enjoy a classic Tagine dinner, savor some delectable local mint tea, and listen to some traditional Berber music while sitting around a campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
Before leaving for Ouarzazate, we’ll wake up and travel to a nearby hotel where you can get ready and eat a nice breakfast. We’ll stop in Berber settlements en route to The Todra and Dades Gorges. We’ll make a halt at a nearby hotel at the Dades Gorge where we’ll stay the night and receive a free dinner.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate
We’ll continue our journey toward Ouarzazate through the Route des Mille Kasbahs (fortresses), stopping in Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, which is well-known for its yearly Rose Festival. We’ll stay the night in a neighborhood hotel.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Tizi-n-Tichka – Marrakech
Following breakfast, we’ll continue our journey toward Ouarzazate through the Route des Mille Kasbahs (fortresses), stopping in Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, which is well-known for its yearly Rose Festival. We’ll stay the night in a neighborhood hotel.
Day 6: Local Guide in Marrakech
At Marrakesh will be the location on this day. The main sights of the city, such as the well-known Jamma el-Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque, the souk, the Royal Palace, and a few museums, will be explored by you. Before completing our tour at your hotel or airport, we’ll also see the city’s contemporary district, known as Gueliz, which includes the Menara Gardens and Marjolle.
