Best 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes

3 Days

During our best 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes is full of excitement and enjoyment. This 3-day excursion from Marrakech to Fes via the desert will fulfill all of your desires. Whether they involve riding a camel, listening to music by a campfire. Sleeping under a million stars, or seeing the sun set below the horizon.

This three-day trip to the imperial city of Fes departs from the melting pot of cultures and crafts that is Marrakech. On the first day of our desert tour, we’ll travel through the stunning mountain scenery and witness beautiful specimens of Moroccan architecture, like the oldest ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Along the route, rose bushes in bloom can be seen at the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs. In the valley close to Kelat Mgouna, we will come across the most exquisite rose gardens. You will see some of Southeast Morocco’s most breathtaking sights while on this journey, including the Todra Gorge and the Dades Canyon. On the approach to Merzouga, you will appreciate how the hills’ natural landscape transforms into palm groves and the plateaus that resemble the desert. The itinerary includes a brief camel ride through the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

As soon as we get to the Sahara, you can climb the sand dunes to watch the sun set. In the evening, native Berbers will serve you a traditional meal beside a campfire in the desert.

You can spend the night outside if the weather is suitable. The following morning, we awaken you early so you may see the dawn over the sand dunes before we go for Fes. We travel through the palm-fringed Ziz Valley, where magnificent and ksour kasbahs rise to create an emerald-colored dry area that makes for a breathtaking spectacle.

Best 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes itinerary

Day 1: Marrakesh – Tizi-n-Tichka – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge

Your English-speaking driver/guide will pick you up as early as possible after an early breakfast at your hotel or riad in Fez, at 07h00 AM in the winter and 08h00 AM in the summer ( that will allow you enough driving time to catch the sunset in Erg Chebbi )
Your 3 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech will begin with a drive across the Saiss plains, past Ifran and Azrou, to the Cedarwoods of the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the side of the road, you can see Barbary apes and stop for photos.
Proceed to Midelt, where you will have lunch. From here, you’ll cross the Ziz River, passing thousands of sky-scraping palm trees and fortified Kasbahs on your way to Erfoud, Merzouga, and Erg Chebbi, where your camel caravan will be waiting for you to ride your camels like nomads and watch the changing colors of the sunset over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.
Return your camels to your Sahara desert tent to refresh up before preparing for your meal under the stars, accompanied by the sounds of the local nomads’ Tam-tam drums. Your Sahara desert camp will be your home for the night.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Rissani – Merzouga Erg Chebbi

After a filling breakfast and a breath of fresh air, we’ll go for a quick stroll over some fields close to your lodging. Then, we carry on toward Merzouga. After traveling from Boumalne Dades to Tinghir, we can explore the Todra Gorge, another fantastic tourist destination in Morocco. This area, which is on the east side of the High Atlas Mountains, is well known for its canyons. One of the most stunning canyons on earth, thanks to its fantastic vista. Later, when we travel to Erfoud, we will pass a distinctive irrigation system. We make a pit stop at Rissani to see the city’s key sights before moving on to the town of Merzouga in the desert. When we get in Merzouga, we’ll ride camels to the desert tent before dusk. One of the most thrilling activities, this is a must-do.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

Get up early and bring your camera to the sand dunes before sunrise. This location has excellent locations for stunning photos. You can take a shower and eat breakfast at the hotel of the desert camp before we drive to Fes. The journey to Fes is lengthy, and along the way, we pass through beautiful regions like Erfoud, the Ziz valley, and Midlet. The ideal town to stop for lunch before continuing the journey is Midlet. You have a fantastic chance to witness the Berber monkey groups in the cedar forest after we get at Azrou. We travel to Ifrane first before arriving in Fes. Ifrane, a winter ski resort constructed by the French in exquisite style, is known locally as “Little Switzerland.”
